AMX-10P is a tracked amphibious armored vehicle designed to serve as armored personnel carrier, fire support vehicle and command and control post. It can be fitted with a wide range of cannons and missiles such as 12.7mm, 20mm or 90mm cannons and HOT or Milan anti-tank missiles. It is powered by a 300-hp diesel engine.

EADS Defence & Security (DS) has just delivered the first five SIR (Regimental Information System) command systems to the DGA.

Versailles Satory, December 17th, 2008 - Nexter has just finished upgrading 108 AMX 10P tracked armored personnel carriers ahead of the initial schedule.
The DGA signed on May 30, 2008 the qualification of VBCI. Since September 2003, the timing of this program included the receipt of the first 20 vehicles in July 2008.
