The BMR-3M Vepr is a 50-ton class armored mine clearance combat vehicle intended to clear mine fields in support of heavy armored units. The vehicle is fitted with Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA); anti-mine armored bottom protection; Nuclear, Bacteriological and Chemical (NBC) protection; and ballistic protection protection provided by the steel hull. The BMR-3M fitted with the KMT-7 system is operated by a crew of two-man having capacity for three engineers and a 5-ton payload in the cargo compartment. It is powered by a four-stroke multi-fuel diesel V-84MS engine developing 840-hp of power and a roof-mounted 12.7mm machine gun provides self-defense capability against airborne threats and light armored vehicles and personnel. The tread mine clearer KMT-7 with electromagnetic attachment allows to clear paths and lanes at speeds of 5 to 12 kilometers per hour. Additional equipment includes a Radiofrequency Interferometer (RFI) to disable mines with radio proximity fuses, crane boom with ratchet winch, night vision devices and entrenching facilities.

The Russian Army's BMR-3MA Prokhod-1 is a remotely operated version of the BMR-3M heavy armored mine clearance vehicle. The BMR-3MA robotic system is expected to be unveiled at the Army-2015 exhibition held outside Moscow in June 2015. It passed the Russian Army Tests in July 2016.
