The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Eitan, Persistent in Hebrew, is a wheeled, 8x8, armored personnel carrier (APC) designed as the replacement for the M113 APC introduced by the IDF in the early 1970s. The 30-35 tons Eitan was introduced in August 2016 and started field trials in 2017. It is fitted with the Iron Fist active defense system similar to the one provided to the Namer tracked armored vehicle. It can reach a top speed of 90 kilometers per hour on road and doesn't need a truck system to get the combat area due to its low logistics support requirement. The IDF started the serial production of the Eitan 8x8 armored vehicle in 2020 with the aim to deploy the new asset in 2021.
