The K3 Main Battle Tank (MBT) is a further development of the Republic of Korea’s K tank series intended to enter service in the late 2030s. The K3 tank will offer higher protection, mobility and firepower compared with the K2 Black Panther MBT. South Korea expects the unveil the first prototype by 2030 and may enter service by 2040 replacing aging K1A1 main battle tanks.
