The Krab is a 155mm self-propelled howitzer (SPH) developed by Poland in the early 2000s combining a tracked chassis and a 155mm 52-caliber cannon. The program was carried out by Huta Stalowa Wola in cooperation with South Korea (K9 chassis) and the United Kingdom (AS90M cannon). The Krab weapon system has a maximum range of 30 kilometers or 40 kilometers firing rocket-assisted projectiles (RAP). The Polish Armed Forces procurement program calls for 122 Krab howitzers to be delivered between 2018 and 2024. The first batch of 96 Krabs was ordered in 2016 and a second batch for 48 additional untis was announced in September 2022. In May 2022 Poland transferred 18 Krab SPHs to Ukraine in order to fight the Russian Army.

The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, named the number of foreign artillery systems and multiple rocket launchers destroyed
Poland provided military support to Ukraine by supplying 18 Krab self-propelled howitzers. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Polish radio.
