The AL-51F, formerly known as Izdelie 30, is an advanced fighter aircraft engine being developed to power the T-50 fifth generation production aircraft. The new engine is more powerful, quieter and more fuel efficient than the AL-41F1 engine powering the T-50 prototypes. The first flight of a T-50 aircraft powered by the Izdelie 30 engine is slated for the fourth quarter of 2017. The first production aircraft scheduled to take to the skies in 2018 is expected to be powered by the new engine. The new engine development is expected to complete by 2020 when the Su-50 stealth aircraft is expected to achieve initial operational capability within the Russian Air Force. The new engine will enable the Su-50 to achieve super-cruise speed and fly at ranges over 5,000 kilometers with no air refueling or external fuel tanks. Compared with the AL-41F1 engine, Izdelie 30 is 30 percent lighter, offers 19,000 kg (42,000-lb) of thrust, and has better fuel efficiency and fewer moving parts resulting in 30 percent lower life cycle costs. The Izdelie 30 will also support high supercruise speed with outstanding fuel efficiency.

The Russian Air Force will take delivery of first AL-51F engine powered Su-57s in 2024.
