The Safran Helicopter Engines, formerly Turbomeca, Aneto is a new family of high power engines for new super-medium and heavyweight helicopters. The Aneto family incorporates groundbreaking technologies to deliver 2,500 to 3,000 shp of power. According to Safran the engine offers 25 percent greater power compared with turboshafts of the same size and is therefore better suited for operations in hot and high conditions. The new engine family was launched in October 2017 and is expected to enter the market before the end of 2018.
