Weighing less than 3 kg, the weapon is intended for use by individual soldiers. The fin-stabilized 72.5mm rocket carries a shaped charge warhead and is placed inside the sealed launch barrel/container made of glass reinforced plastic (GRP). The shaped charge warhead is designed to pierce armor as thick as 440mm at ranges of 250 meters. The RShG-2 assault rocket variant is equipped with a thermobaric warhead which can defeat targets at ranges of 350 meters.
