The DDG-Next is a US Navy program at delivering the next generation surface combatants staled to enter service in the 2030s. The DDG-Next class displacement will be between the 9,000-ton DDG 51 and the 16,000-ton DDG 1000 warships with the entire ships design taking the DDG 51 as the role model. The new destroyers will feature deeper magazines to accommodate a new generation of hypersonic weapons. Construction of the lead ships is slated to commence in 2028.
