The combat proven AS30L is a supersonic, short range, laser guided, air-to surface missile for use against ground and sea based hardened targets. Among these targets are concrete hangars for aircraft, munitions depots, command posts, radar stations, air defense sites, bridges and ships. In order to destroy such hardened target, the AS30L features an armor piercing warhead of 240 kg.
The AS30L missile requires the Atlis precision guidance pod to perform target tracking and target illumination. It has been integrated on the Rafale, Mirage 2000, Mirage F1, Super Etendard, Jaguar and F-16 aircraft.
It was employed during the Gulf War in 1991 and during the former Yugoslavia conflict.
