The HELINA is an indigenous third generation anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) being developed by India to meet the requirements of its Armed Forces. This missile system has been designed to be fired from rotary-wing aircraft such as the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) being developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The HELINA has a maximum range of more than 7,000 meters. As of summer 2010, the HELINA missile has been handed over to HAL for carriage trials. The Dhruvastra is a version used by the Indian Air Force.
