The 96L6 is a counter-battery radar system developed to meet the requirements of the Russian Armed Forces within the Special Military Operation in Ukraine. The 96L6 is superior to the Zoopark artillery radar reconnaissance systems being able to spot mortar and howitzer fire source at distances of up to 70 kilometers and MLRS rocket systems at distances of up to 150 kilometers. The artillery reconnaissance system allows counter-battery fire within two minutes after the first short of hostile artillery systems. The 96L6 radar system is integrated onto a tracked chassis and entered service in March 2025.
