The new sensor system has a maximum detection range of up to 40 kilometers. The variable depth sonar towed sonar can be deployed at depths of up to 300 meters. The sensor utilizes low and medium frequencies for detecting and identifying threats while providing panoramic surveillance. The ATAS active/passive sonar was unveiled at Euronaval-2016 in Paris.
