The Klimov TV3-117 is a turboshaft engine family intended to provide power to medium rotary-wing aircraft. The engine family provides a maximum power at takeoff between 1,800 and 2,200 shaft-horsepower (shp).
Some versions of Mi-8 Hip, Mi-14 Haze (TV3-117MT), Mi-17 (TV3-117VK), Mi-24/25/35 Hind, Mi-28/34 (TV3-117VM), Ka-27/28/29/31/32 (TV3-117V), Ka-50 and Ka-52 (TV3-117VM/VMA) helicopters are powered by TV3-117 family engines.

The Ivchenko-Progress TV3-117VMA-SBM1 is a turboprop based on the gas generator of TV3-117VMA helicopter turbine designed by Klimov plant. In addition, the TV3-117VMA-SBM1 also incorporates the reduction gear from the AI-24 turbine. This reliable and cost effective engine is intended to power regional turboprop aircraft. The engine responds to a two-shaft, modular design with advanced monitoring and diagnostic system.
The TV3-117VMA-SMB1 engine has been selected to power the Antonov An-140 twin-engine turboprop passenger aircraft.

The VK-2500 engine is an advanced version of the TV3-117VMA turboshaft intended to power the latest Russian combat helicopters such as Mi-28N, Ka-50 and Ka-52. Besides, the VK-2500 engine is also well suited for upgrading a wide variety of Russian helicopters such as Mi-14, Mi-17, Mi-24, Mi-28, Ka-32, Ka-50 and Ka-50-2. Compared to previous TV3-117 models features: lowest specific fuel consumption; lower weight-to-power ratio; higher reliability; longer service life; ease of operation and maintenance; good performance in harsh conditions including dust, smoke, hot climate and mountainous environment; and suitability for maritime operations. The VK-2500 engine has been selected to power the Mi-171M tactical transport helicopter due to enter service by 2013.
