The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Navy Arialah is a new class of high-speed, multi-purpose Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) intended to serve under the Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA). The Arialah vessels are suitable for maritime security, law enforcement, offshore patrol and search and rescue (SAR) missions. The sea axe bow design allows higher speed and lower sea resistance. These vessels are provided with the TACTICOS combat management system, SMART-S Mk2 radar, STIR tracking and illumination radar, Mirador lightweight electro-optical multi-sensor, Vigile 100 Mk2 electronic warfare (EW) system and Altesse communications ESM all provided by Thales Netherlands. The weapon system consists of a 57mm Bofors naval gun, two Marlin 30mm guns and one 11-cell Mk 49 RAM missile system. Besides, each vessel is fitted with two MASS countermeasures launchers. A flight deck at the aft allows operation of a single medium helicopter. The Arialah vessel is fitted with two interceptor boats sited amidships on either beam. Two vessels were built by Galati shipyard in Romania and delivered to the ADSB to fit them out in the UAE in 2017 following a contract signed with Damen in 2013.
