The Arktur is a prospective nuclear-powered strategic submarine being developed by the Rubin Design Bureau for the Russian Navy. The new boat will feature a groundbreaking design and technologies with the first boat to be commissioned in the 2040-2050 timeframe. These boats are expected to operate in the second half of the 21st century. In June 2024, the Russian Navy revealed the first ship of this class was expected in the early 2030s.
