Grob Aerospace Teams up with FedEx to Offer Fastest Parts Distribution for spn Customers
Released on Monday, May 19, 2008

Grob Aerospace is teaming with overnight delivery leader FedEx to make sure spare parts get to North American customers in absolutely, positively the shortest amount of time.

Rather than keep all spares at a central company-owned facility, parts for the spn business jet will be held initially by FedEx at its Memphis hub, where it will respond immediately to shipping instructions from Grob Aerospace.

Ultimately, parts will be stored at multiple FedEx bases around North America, placing them even closer to customers with a goal to further reduce delivery times.

“When aircraft operators think of good product support, nothing ranks higher than a fast response when spares are needed,” said Cary Brown Director of Customer Support for Grob Aerospace Inc. “FedEx’s well-honed operation will ensure the fastest shipment possible.”

Grob Aerospace’s s North American arm, Grob Aerospace Inc., which is based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, entered into a distribution agreement with FedEx Supply Chain Services (FedEx GSCS) to provide parts distribution in North America. FedEx GSCS will provide warehousing, order processing and transportation for spare parts.

“Because we are building a new support organization for a new airplane, we have the luxury of imagining better ways to do things. Taking advantage of the capabilities of the world’s most experienced express shipper is certainly a better way,” said Brown.

Brown noted that FedEx will not only expedite deliveries to customers, but will speed up the reverse logistics process--the return of material from customers to Grob and its suppliers.
