The Pentagon Has 3,748 Nuclear Warheads for its Strategic Forces

The US National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) reported that as of September 2023, the United States had 3,748 nuclear warheads intended to equip strategic forces.

It is noteworthy that such information was last released by the United States in October 2021, and after that the data was not disclosed.

According to the published data, this number (3,748 nuclear warheads) means a reduction in stockpiles by 88 percent compared to their maximum quantity at the end of the 1967 fiscal year (31,255 units) and by 83 percent compared to the level of 22,217 units at the end of 1989, Interfax reports, citing NNSA analysis.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the experience of the special operation and Western policy showed that the nuclear doctrine needs to be clarified .
